Welcome to the Melissa Hobson Photography blog! First things first, let me introduce
myself..
As you’ve gathered already, my name is Melissa. I reside in
Connecticut with my husband and sweet puppy! My love for photography started
out when I was in high school and took my first photography class. That
involved a 35mm film camera and a dark room. The photography field was
completely different back then, and with the advice of my teacher based on the then
studio driven industry, I ended up going to college to pursue something
else. I came out of my 8 year
college stint with a bachelors degree in accounting. I work as an accountant
9-5, but am a photographer the remaining hours of the day! I’ve finally decided
to chase after my dreams. Life passes too quickly; it isn’t about waiting for
the perfect moment, so sometimes you need to just jump right in!
My husband and I have been together for just about 7 years
now. We met in the cafeteria of a local community college. He says that he knew
he was in love when he found himself following me to the library to study, or
pretend to study should we say. Fast forward to September 1, 2013, and we were
married! He owns his own construction company, and is the hardest worker I
know! He never stops, and has such drive that constantly pushes me to be like
him. We adopted a sweet lab/dane mix puppy in November. He’s almost 3 months
old, and when he isn’t biting, stealing socks, or trying to jump on the
furniture, he’s the cutest thing in the world! His name is Mackerel Silas Hobson, aka, Mack. Excuse the iphone photo.
I love coffee, potatoes, taking naps (which is a rarity),
80’s music and sweatpants. I’m a memory hoarder: I have boxes of cards, movie
and ticket stubs, invitations, and tons of other little momento’s to look back
on. I’m messy, and am trying to
work hard at organization and following a schedule for better time management.
I always have a fruity smelling candle lit, and generally drive in silence. My
favorite place on earth is Anna Maria Island, Florida and my biggest dream is
to go to Bora Bora (1st anniversary gift hint – someone tell
Wayne!).
Here I’ll be posting a mix of business life and personal life. Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check back often! :]
